Trains...

Well, it seems I keep taking pictures and never get them put on here fast enough...so I thought I'd throw a few on here tonight before they become too old.
On a cold snowy night a while back we had to build train tracks and the challenge was to use every track piece we have!  I don't think we used every single one but we were very close!!!
Gotta just love those special family nights....Tonight was another one of those but no pictures involved....we had a huge blanket and played "night time" with Eli.  He just laughed and laughed....oh if only I could bottle it all up!  I look at him from time to time and try to hold on - too much Im sure - just worried that he may be the only one we ever have and try to realize each and every day and stage is special in itself!

Stages of Snow

Well after our huge blizzard a few weeks back....we finally saw some much needed sunshine....and temps got high enough to start melting the 17" we received!  I was worried about what kind of flooding would occur but it melted slow enough that all was well!  One of the warmer days Eli got to go out and even play a little.  He went straight for his shovel and wanted to help daddy!

But of course winter is not over yet...(not happy about this at all!)
So today when Doug got home he wanted to get the drive cleared from yet another snow fall.
Eli had been home with me all day...and I'd rather stay inside all day and cook or clean than to go out...so it was time for Eli to get outside for a bit!
He enjoyed helping Doug....and then they decided it was time to make a snowman!
Unfortunately we didn't have all the tools needed to dress him but that's ok!
As soon as Doug finished putting the snowman together Eli walked right up to him "face to face" and said 'Daddy, I wanna knock him down!'  And off to the garage he went looking for his golf clubs!  (Unfortunately I was covered with bacon grease and soon to be cooked meatloaf so I did not get pics of the incident!)
I hope and pray this is not a small sign of what I have to look forward to in the days and years to come!  Yikes!  He is quite the brute but I know and love the soft side of him too as he cries right before laying down at night saying "mommy I wanch ooo!"  Melts my heart every time!

Another Family Day

Well we just had Valentine's Day the other day and Grandma Fildes was sweet enough to get Eli a BIG present....it was a cardboard house that you can color yourself!  So since Doug and I both had today off we thought we'd give it a shot...needless to say Eli LOVED it!  He keeps asking to go back to it and color more....I think we will be coloring it for quite a while!  What a great way to keep him busy!  It did come with markers so of course it was all over his hands...but it was well worth it to see how much fun he had!  Check out the lovely artwork he created! (with a little help from mom and dad hehe)

Playing Dress Up, Boy Style

So back in October right before Halloween was approaching I had heard a girl say that she would go and buy costumes on major clearance and save them for a cold winter day when there's nothing else to do.  I thought this was a brilliant idea so the search was on to find the bargains!  One day while out with my mother in law I came across two deals I figured would do, an astronaut and an elephant!
So looking in Eli's closet yesterday morning and realizing that January was almost over and the costumes were still in the bag with all the tags on, I decided it was time to play!
Eli had fun but I must say it was short lived!  I do believe though I will do this in years to come because I think the older he gets the more fun it will become for him!
First was the astronaut costume....I suppose he didn't fully understand what an astronaut is but he finally said he was going to the moon!  haha!
Then came the elephant costume and I think he had more fun with that one!  And I must say he was absolutely adorable!  :)

Blogs

Ok, so I've been reading and following a few blogs here and there and have become intrigued.
It seems like such a great way to keep friends and family updated on things going on in each others' lives.  However, I'm not sure how often I am going to make it on here but will try my best!
There seems to be a lot of little extras you can find and save to put on your own blog so I hope to learn all the ins and outs soon!  Stay tuned for more to come.....
